The Social Scene: A Whirlwind Few Months
The past few months have been an absolute blur- in the best (and occasionally most chaotic) way possible. Setting up a new business is no small feat, and diving headfirst into building a website, launching social media accounts, shaping a brand identity, and tackling endless to-do lists has kept me more than busy. I’ve handled every last detail myself obviously because….well that’s what I do!
But even with all that going on, one thing I refused to compromise on was upskilling. Years of experience in sales and marketing are great, but this world moves fast, and staying sharp is essential. So between client calls and content creation, I’ve been deepening my skills and soaking up fresh knowledge to keep delivering the very best.
One of the real joys of this new chapter has been the chance to collaborate with wonderful new clients across a range of industries. Each project has brought something unique, and I’ve genuinely loved the process. A particular highlight was travelling to France to spend time with one of my clients—talking business, exploring their beautiful holiday offering, and shaping a marketing strategy we’re now six months into. The results? Absolutely phenomenal. Their social media growth has exceeded all expectations. And let’s be honest: who doesn’t love a good work-cation?
Speaking of mixing work and travel… I’ve even carved out time to write a new travel blog - Grumpy Old Guides. It’s a light-hearted grumble (emphasis on the “grumpy”) about the adventures Tim and I have been having around Spain. If you fancy a laugh, mostly at our expense, pour yourself a glass of wine and head on over.
Another exciting development is that I’m now splitting my time between Murcia and the UK. Murcia is a fabulous place to call home (despite what the Grumpy Old Guides might claim!), and I can’t wait to partner with more local businesses. With my years of experience in hospitality, tourism, and holiday property management, together with a 10 year period of living in the Murcia region, supporting businesses targeting both locals and tourists feels like a natural and exciting fit.
And finally, I’ve had the privilege of teaming up with an inspiring start-up led by the wonderful Nikki. Her resilience and passion shine through in everything she does, and I’m thrilled to have been a very small part of her journey. With her determination and heart, I have no doubt her business is headed for incredible success.
It’s been a whirlwind, yes - but one filled with learning, laughter, travel, and truly rewarding collaborations. And something tells me this is only the beginning.
One of the joys of this journey has been the opportunity to work with new clients across diverse industries. I've enjoyed every moment of collaboration. Speaking of excitement, I am eagerly anticipating a field trip to France to meet one of my new clients and experience their breathtaking holiday offerings firsthand (because who doesn’t love a little work-cation?). Plus, there’s a photoshoot lined up which promises to be as fun as it sounds—stay tuned for some stunning shots!
